Ah, spring is almost here! It's the season of new beginnings and fresh starts - a great time to get organized and give your home the deep cleaning it deserves. With sunshine coming through the windows and flowers in bloom, it's a perfect opportunity for some serious (or not-so-serious) spring cleaning. Whether you're looking for an easy way to spruce up your space or need a reminder of what you should be doing during this time of year, we've got you covered with the ultimate spring cleaning checklist. So let's get ready to make your home sparkle!

Declutter Your Home

A tidy home is a happy home - and the quickest way to achieve that satisfaction starts with decluttering! Spend some time sipping your favorite beverage, sorting through everything you own. Identifying what can be sold or donated (in good condition) and anything too damaged to repair. Before getting stuck in, ensure you have a few boxes ready: Sale items into one, donations go into another, and things headed for donation, or the trash get their own bags. Then put it all back where it belongs.

Declutter Your Home

Don't let dirty windows ruin your view! Give them a sparkly clean look inside and outside with window cleaner, microfiber cloths, and newspaper. Mix cool water with a few drops of dish soap to remove dirt or residue

. Then follow up the wash using window cleaner or white vinegar for added shine. Finally, use paper towels or lint-free toweling to dry off - you'll see spectacular results!

Deep Clean Your Floors

Keep your floors looking as fresh and clean as ever with deep cleaning! Start by giving them the once over with a vacuum, then mop away any dirt. If you have carpets, you may want to bring out some heavier artillery – rent a carpet cleaner for those extra stubborn stains. Finally, make a solution of vinegar and warm water (with dish soap if things are extra grimy).

Dust and Wipe Down Surfaces

Get your cleaning gloves on and give your countertops and surfaces a much-needed cleaning! Start with the joint surfaces like countertops, tables, and shelves. Remember to make sure there's some quality scrubbing time devoted to walls, door frames & baseboards, too. This annual deep clean will help keep pesky mold & mildew away. Dilute dishwashing liquid in warm water, then use an all-purpose cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

Clean Your Appliances

Refresh your space and appliances with a deep clean! Wipe down the stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator to remove dust build-up, and don’t forget to clean the coils on the back of your fridge to keep it running smoothly! Give the washing machine an even deeper clean by adding white vinegar - for front loaders, add it at the start or halfway through filling for top loading machines. Finally, finish the cleaning with a rinse cycle after cleaning out any residue inside.

Refresh Your Bedding and Linens

Wash all of your pillows, comforters, and linens regularly. Rotate the mattress once or twice a year and use a mattress cover to extend its life.

Clean and Sanitize Your bathrooms

Start by decluttering, organizing, and then toss or donate anything that doesn't belong. Now is also a great time to check the expiration dates on the stuff in your medicine cabinet. Since many medications are considered hazardous household waste (HHW), properly dispose of them at a local HHW event sponsored by your local city or county. From there, grab your all-purpose cleaner, microfiber cloth, toilet brush, disinfectant wipes, and non-abrasive scrubbing tools and get to work cleaning. Finally, sweep and mop the floor, and you’re all done.

Get Your Outdoor Living Space Ready for Spring

Refresh your outdoor space and prepare it to enjoy with family and friends by sweeping and washing down the patio or deck area, removing furniture covers, and adding some new plants to give it a new look.
